Reese believes her performance exceeded expectations
As the WNBA regular season draws to a close, the battle for Rookie of the Year (ROTY) is heating up. Caitlin Clark wowed fans with her league-leading performance in assists, and Angel Reese broke the single-season rebounding record. The competition is fierce, but Chicago Sky standout rookie Angel Reese remains focused on winning the prestigious ROTY title.
Shaquille O’Neal came to Wintrust Arena to watch Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark play against the Minnesota Lynx. Angel Reese had a brief conversation with Sneaker Reporter. When asked about her impact on the WNBA and the Rookie of the Year conversation, Reese was humble in sharing her thoughts.
“I mean, I was the seventh pick. “I shouldn’t be on the rookie of the year list,” Reese told Sneaker Reporter.
“But I’m here because of my hard work, not just on offense, but on defense and especially rebounding.” Bouncing the ball is something you have to want to do. It’s not something that comes easy. And there’s nothing in my life that comes easy to me. So I really enjoy it.
The 2024 WNBA season has been marked by incredible rookie performances, and the race to be the best player in the world has never been tighter. Angel Riz and Kaitlin Clark both had a significant impact on their orders and the league as a whole. As the last games approach, the world of basketball is looking forward to a beginner of the year. In total, there are only a few games in the season, the Angel of Reese and Caitlin Clark will remain under the spotlight, while they continue to fight for the desired title. Will there be a restoration of the Raiz, there will be enough Riza skills to obtain a reward, or have the Clark game skills led him to victory? The answer will likely become clear soon as the WNBA season comes to a thrilling end.
