Their talent show video blew up online with 21M people in stitches.

Do you remember the performances of your first years in school? After the practices, the day came when you took the stage in front of your parents, teachers, and other kids’ families. The fear of embarrassing yourself in front of your peers was worse than worries about the adults. You had to face your schoolmates on the playing fields every school day. That could be tough. It was even tougher if you had a sibling in the audience. Worse yet was if your sibling performed in the same show.

If you messed up, you’d never hear the end of it. It would become part of family lore. Siblings can be both more embarrassing and more relentless than parents. Brother and sister Jadon Cole and Dylan Kate Muller went one further. When they were tykes, they sang Hallelujah – together!… in coordinated outfits! Pretty soon, know-it-all Jadon was on Dylan’s case. Dylan couldn’t get through a chorus without Jadon interrupting. There’s no rivalry quite like sibling rivalry!

Siblings fight on stage during beautiful ballad - YouTube
Isn’t that a scream? Jadon and Dylan took the sibling rivalry trope and ran. Don’t you wish you’d pranked the audience like this in your little-school talent show? What turns this from a stunt about siblings arguing on stage into a really good gag are the witty variations of “Hallelujah.” When Dylan sings “Hello Julia” to a buddy, it’s classic comedy, impeccably timed. Of course, it wouldn’t work without Jake’s deadpanning – and without the quality of their voices, it would have fallen flat.

That was 5 years ago. Jadon and Dylan have posted videos since, but none have taken off like their sibling clash during Hallelujah – which now has a fantastic 21 M views on YouTube alone. Never mind, Jadon and Dylan have moved away from being social media novelties to real-world success. Jadon is now an actor with several TV series under his belt. In the film The Instigators (2024), he plays lead actor Matt Damon’s son! In this promo reel, he is Jack Kelly in the stage show Newsies, LA, 2024.

Directly after Newsies, Jadon Cole played Danny Zuko in Heritage Drama’s LA production of Grease. Jadon is learning the craft of acting the old-fashioned way – by treading the boards in live theatre productions. Still, it must have been a great thrill when he made his red carpet debut alongside Matt Damon, Casey Affleck, and Jack Harlow on 2 August 2024 at The Instigators movie premiere, Lincoln Center, NYC. The Instigators is an Apple Original Film, directed by Doug Liman. Way to go, Jadon Cole!

Meanwhile, Dylan Kate is no slouch. In November 2023, 8th-grade Dylan Kate won 1st place for her monologue at the annual Drama Teachers Association of Southern California theatre competition. Dylan has a powerful voice. The girl can sing. See how the audience responds to her performance of Burn from Hamilton. Enjoy!
