MAGA TURNS ON Caitlin Clark as Reality Comes Crashing Down

MAGA TURNS ON Caitlin Clark as Reality Comes Crashing Down.

WNBA star Caitlin Clark is getting dragged every which way by her Trump-loving fanbase that baselessly propped her up as a MAGA hero after Clark liked Taylor Swift’s Instagram post endorsing Kamala Harris and Tim Walz for President and Vice President. Rick Strom breaks it down. Give us your thoughts in the comments below!

Fever’s Caitlin Clark gets backlash for liking Taylor Swift’s Kamala Harris endorsement

In response to liking Taylor Swift’s endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris on Instagram, Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark has received some backlash on social media.

Clark, who has led the Fever to a 19-18 record this season, “liked” a post by Swift in support of the vice president after Tuesday’s presidential debate between Harris and former President Donald Trump.

On Wednesday, Clark said she wanted to encourage people nationwide to register to vote.

“I have this amazing platform, so I think the biggest thing would be just to encourage people to register to vote,” Clark said when asked, in part, if she would endorse Harris. “I think for myself, this is the second time I can vote in an election at age 22. I could vote when I was 18, so I think, do that. That’s the biggest thing I can do with the platform that I have, and that’s the same thing Taylor did. I think continuing to educate yourself with the candidates that we have, the policies that they’re supporting. I think that’s the biggest thing you can do, and that’s what I would recommend to every single person that has that opportunity in our country.”

Reaction to Caitlin Clark liking Taylor Swift’s Kamala Harris endorsement

Since Clark “liked” Swift’s post, the Fever rookie has received many responses. Some have been supportive while others have been upset.

“Definitely should have stayed out of politics @caitlinclark22,” one poster stated. “Loved watching you but now I refuse after seeing you support Taylor swift and Kamala.”

Clark hasn’t posted to IG in three weeks, but that hasn’t stopped people from commenting about the Swift endorsement.

“Already turning on Caitlin for simply liking a post,” another commenter said. “You were never fans to begin with. Go touch grass.”

While Clark hadn’t previously been vocal about politics, she had been pulled into discussions inadvertently. In June, U.S. Congressman Jim Banks called on WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert because Clark was “met with resentment and repeated attacks from fellow players” since she joined the league.
