The real MVP of this Super Bowl was actually… Kendrick Lamar.
Fresh off of winning 5 Grammys last weekend, Kendrick continued his hot streak with an epic halftime performance.
And sure, he might not have played in the game itself, but he’s practically a starting linebacker when you consider the number of brutal blows he’s delivered to arch-rival Drake lately.
It was no mistake that he wore all denim to the Grammys (a “Canadian tuxedo”), and featured SZA (Drake’s ex) prominently in his set.
His game-changing diss track Not Like Us was more than A Minor success this past year.
He made $60 million from touring in 2024 alone. And he’s sure to get at least a 10 figure bump in album sales after the Super Bowl.
Kendrick won’t get paid for performing, but the exposure alone is worth it. Take a look at what previous SB performers did AFTER their halftime performance: Justin Timberlake had a 534% increase in music sales
Lady Gaga had a 1000% increase in music sales
Jennifer Lopez and Shakira gained 3 million IG followers
Rihanna became the #1 most-streamed artist globally
The Weeknd sold 1 million concert tickets
The Rolling Stones made $558 million on tour, a record-high
Last year, Usher was projected to make $100,000,000 from album sales and tour revenue
While a lot of stars on the field shined brightly, only one got the entire stadium and viewing public vibing in unison.
Kendrick Lamar proved definitively that he’s… not like us.
