Veteran Fox NFL Sunday star confirms unemployment in surprise announcement after Terry Bradshaw retirement decision

A FOX NFL star has confirmed being without a job in a stunning development.

The announcement comes after Terry Bradshaw revealed earlier this month that he has a date in mind for when he’d like to retire from his Fox NFL Sunday analyst role.

Charissa Thompson, who worked for Fox Sports as a TV host and sideline reporter, revealed that her contract with the network expired at the end of the 2024 NFL season.

The 42-year-old spoke about the update during a recent eidition of her Calm Down podcast alongside co-host and fellow Fox Sports sideline reporter Erin Andrews, who is also out of contract with Fox this summer.

Thompson shared that she got a sendoff from her former colleagues for Fox’s NFL coverage of Super Bowl 59 in New Orleans earlier this month.

“I just have to say one thing, and this is also what I am going on and on about Fox, and I swear. I mean it’s not just because my contract’s up,” she said.

“I love Fox so much because my brother and my dad came to the Super Bowl, and Fox’s family to me, so my own family like sharing in those moments.

“It was so fun and Fox just makes them feel so welcome and makes sure they’re included in the events and everything.

“So I just would be remiss if I didn’t mention how wonderful my extended work family is to my own family.”

Thompson has continued her praise of her Fox co-workers.

It appears that Thompson isn’t ready to leave the network where she’s worked since 2013.

Thompson is the co-host of Fox NFL Pregame which airs before Fox NFL Sunday during the NFL season.

While Thompsons assesses her future, the 76-year-old Bradshaw knows when he’ll call it quits.

During Super Bowl week, Bradshaw revealed that he intends to retire after the 2029 Super Bowl, when he’ll be close to 80 years old.

“I told my wife before I left the room a while ago, I’m sitting there, I said, ‘I’ve got two years left at FOX. I’m 76′,” he said last week during a media scrum in New Orleans.

“Okay, so it’s a young man’s game.

“I get that.’ Everybody wants the new.

“And so I said, ‘If we can get to the next Super Bowl, I’ll be 80. That’s, I think that’s time’.

“80 years old, that’s pushing it.”

Bradshaw has been a member of Fox NFL Sunday since its inception in 1994.

The Pittsburgh Steelers icon has two years left on his Fox contract.
