Travis Kelce is ready for his close-up.

 

Adam Sandler confirmed the Kansas City Chiefs tight end will make a cameo in “Happy Gilmore 2.”

 

“We have something nice for Travis. He’s going to come by,” the comedian teased on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” Tuesday of Kelce’s role in the Netflix film, which held a casting call in New Jersey earlier that day and begins filming in the coming weeks.

Sandler, 57, told the studio audience that the NFL star, 34, is “very nice,” adding, “What a big, handsome guy — and funny and cool as hell. He’s a stud.”

 

Kelce, an avid golfer who has been making a foray into Hollywood since he started dating Taylor Swift last year, previously made a public pitch to appear in “Happy Gilmore 2.”

 

“I’ll be a f–king extra … anything to get around ‘Happy Gilmore,’ an Adam Sandler film or set. Count me in!” he said on his “New Heights” podcast earlier this year.

“I’ll do anything in the movie,” the football player, who will make his acting debut in Ryan Murphy’s TV series “Grotesquerie” next month, reiterated. “I’ll be part of it any way I possibly can.”

 

Netflix announced in May that a sequel to Sandler’s 1996 sports comedy was in the works, with the “Saturday Night Live” alum set to reprise his role as the title character.

 

Sandler shared on “The Tonight Show” Tuesday that he and his longtime writing partner, Tim Herlihy, “worked hard on the script” for the forthcoming film.

“We didn’t want to let anybody down. People have been asking me for a long time,” he explained, saying the pair are “really excited” about the fruits of their labor.

 

Christopher McDonald, who played Shooter McGavin in the original movie, recently told Page Six exclusively that the new script is “really funny” but played coy about his involvement.

 

“I have an NDA,” he told us when asked about the sequel. “Nice try.”
