In a recent ESPN poll conducted among 103 NFL players, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen was voted the most overrated player in the league, receiving 11 votes.

Not far behind him were Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts and Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who each garnered 10 votes.

Allen quickly responded to the poll on X, showing he isn’t fazed by the criticism.

Allen‘s response highlights his knack for flipping criticism into humor, showing that he sees the poll as more of a nod to his ability to rattle opponents than a serious critique of his performance.

“So you’re telling me, I was voted as the #1 … best trash talker??? Let’s goooooo!!!” he wrote on X.

Criticism of Allen

The main critique against Allen focused on his turnover rate, with an anonymous NFC West player highlighting, “Too many turnovers.”

This observation is backed by the fact that Allen has recorded 102 turnovers since the 2018 season, the highest in the NFL during that time.

Despite this, Allen has been instrumental in the Buffalo Bills‘ success, leading the team to five playoff appearances, including a run to the AFC Championship Game, and earning two Pro Bowl nods in his six-year career.

Allen’s contributions to the Bills are significant, boasting 221 total touchdowns (both passing and rushing) since he entered the league in 2018.

This impressive tally places him second only to Patrick Mahomes in that period.

Allen’s dual-threat nature, combining his passing prowess with the ability to run, has made him one of the most versatile quarterbacks in the league, even if it sometimes results in costly turnovers.
