Keanu Reeves Returns as John Wick in Ballerina

Lionsgate recently dropped an extended preview for Ballerina at CCXP in São Paulo, and it’s already causing a stir! Fans got an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the making of the spinoff, with Ana de Armas showing off her impressive training for some seriously intense action scenes.

The preview promises the same flavor that made people fall in love with John Wick in the first place. But the real buzz comes from a surprise, Keanu Reeves’ John Wick makes a cameo, sending fans into a frenzy especially after Chapter 4. With the right mix of action and familiar faces, Ballerina is shaping up to be the thrilling ride for sure!

Celebrating the tenth anniversary of John Wick, the producers are gearing up for even more action. If Ballerina takes off, they are hoping it will launch a whole new series of films.

But that is not all, rumors are John Wick: Chapter 5 is already in development, alongside a movie focused on Chapter 4s Caine. Plus, there is a TV series in the works about the High Table and an anime coming soon. The John Wick universe is growing, and there is a lot more to look forward to!

Did John Wick Survive Chapter 4? Will Fans See Chapter 5 Soon?

The John Wick saga isn’t done yet, even though John seemingly met his end in Chapter 4. 2023 gave us The Continental, a prequel series diving into the hotel’s mysterious past, and now with Ballerina on the way, fans are chomping at the bit for the real deal, John Wick 5! Plans for Chapter 5 are already underway, along with a spinoff starring Donnie Yen’s character from Chapter 4.

Keanu Reeves and Chad Stahelski are both on board to return, but Reeves has one condition, Stahelski has to be the one directing. But with John’s apparent death, the burning question is, how can he come back?

While the plot details are under wraps, many speculate Wick might’ve survived after all. Well, only time can answer that question. Adding to that, during a John Wick 10th anniversary chat with Business Insider, Stahelski crushed some fan hopes also, shutting down a few rumors and leaving them with a bit of disappointment. He said,

When you fall in love you fall in love. I’m in love with John Wick. I’m in love with the process and the story. Keanu and I are both like, if we wake up tomorrow and there’s a good idea, we’re doing it. You can bet your a–

He further added,

Yeah. If we felt we weren’t ripping the fans off and had more to give, I’d do it tomorrow. I just don’t have that right now. The other stuff I’m working on are great properties, and I’m excited, but nothing is going to beat this.

At the end of the day, John Wick fans do have an awful lot of things to be excited about, no matter what direction the franchise takes! Whether it’s the upcoming Ballerina, or the number of spinoffs in plan, even the buzz around John Wick 5, there’s a whole lot to look forward to.

Ballerina is ready to hit theaters on June 5, 2025.
