Fox News confirms all-new line-up for hit show with a weekend favorite moving to primetime hosting spot

THE prime-time Fox News slot left empty by Neil Cavuto’s departure has been filled – and viewers will be excited to see a familiar face.

The network announced a raft of schedule and anchor changes weeks after beloved business reporter Cavuto said goodbye.

Starting on January 21, Fox & Friends Weekend host Will Cain will step over to weekdays to host The Will Cain Show at 4 pm.

He will be replaced by Charlie Hurt, who is a Fox News contributor and the opinion editor for The Washington Times.

Cain said he looks forward to helping “viewers better understand the headlines through thought-provoking content and analysis every weekday afternoon.”

“It’s been an honor to wake up with America these past four years,” he said.

Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott said she’s excited about how the new lineup will change the future of the network.

“Will Cain brings years of experience to the 4 pm hour as an accomplished broadcaster and a lawyer, and we look forward to adding his insights to what will no doubt be another historic news cycle ahead this year,” she said in a statement.

Cain has been with Fox News since 2020 and, during his weekend duties, interviewed major stars like President-elect Donald Trump and actor Dwayne Johnson.

Before joining Fox, he worked at the sports network ESPN, hosting a radio program titled The Will Cain Show and appearing on the morning debate program First Take.

A Texas native, he attended law school at the University of Texas before founding and selling Quince Media, which published a magazine about Latin American culture.

He then helped broker the sale of other small media companies before joining CNN as a fill-in host for a sports program in 2011.

Cain is married to Kathleen Cain, and they share two sons.

MAJOR SHAKE-UP

Several other schedule changes were announced on Monday.

The Fox Report weekend with Jon Scott and The Big Weekend Show have both been extended to two hours.

Now, The Fox Report will run on Saturdays and Sundays from 3 to 5 pm ET, and The Big Weekend Show will be cast from 6 to 8 pm ET.

The Big Money Show, which streams on Fox Business, has also been expanded to run from 12 to 2 pm ET on weekdays.

Dagen McDowell, who co-hosts Fox Business’s evening show The Bottom Line, will now join that program.

Who is Will Cain?

WILL Cain has been added to Fox News’ weekday programming after years of hosting Fox & Friends Weekend.

He is filling the 4 pm slot left empty by business reporter Neil Cavuto with The Will Cain Show.

Cain has been with Fox since 2020 when he joined Fox & Friends.

In his weekend duties, he interviewed stars like President-elect Donald Trump and actor Dwayne Johnson.

Cain is a lawyer by trade but broke into the media business after graduating from the University of Texas.

Once he finished law school, he started and sold the company Quince, which published a magazine exploring quinceañeras.

His most recent job was at ESPN, where he offered conservative opinions on the sports issues of the day.

He hosted the radio program entitled The Will Cain Show and often appeared on the wildly popular debate program First Take.

Cain is married to Kathleen Cain and they have two sons together.

The network shake-up came after Fox legend Cavuto left the network after 28 years of dedication.

The 68-year-old was one of the network’s longest-serving anchors and left a massive hole in the main channel and Fox Business.

After he announced his departure, a Fox News spokesperson said, “Neil Cavuto’s illustrious career has been a master class in journalism and we’re extremely proud of his incredible 28-year run with Fox News Media.”

“His programs have defined business news and set the standard for the entire industry.

“We wish him a heartfelt farewell and all the best on his next chapter.”

His last day was on December 19.
