Broadcaster and royal correspondent Sarah Hewson said there are a number of reasons preventing the Duke and Duchess of Sussex from being welcomed back into the Royal Family.

The royal expert says Meghan, seen here, in 2018, disapproves of Royals’ love of going hunting

Part of Meghan’s reluctance to come to the UK is said to be a clash in lifestyles, particularly the love of hunting the Royals had.

Sarah said: “I’m not sure Meghan is particularly someone who wants to go off stalking and shooting.

“When she first went to Sandringham with Prince Harry and some of his friends and they were going out on a shoot, she was distinctly unimpressed.

“I don’t know if Balmoral would be her first choice. “

Then there were the well-known tensions between Prince William and Princess Kate and the Sussexes which made Sarah think Harry and Meghan wouldn’t even be welcome, even if they were to come over to this side of the pond.

And the situation was complicated due to Kate undergoing cancer treatment.

Sarah said: “I don’t see any signs of any thawing there – and it’s really not a priority for the Wales’ now.

“One of the things they really want to focus on it to keep things calm, keep stress levels down during the Princess of Wales’ recuperation.

“I really don’t think a reunion with Harry and Meghan is going to do for her stress levels.

Meghan Markle will NEVER return to Britain – she knows she is so unpopular, reveals expert

“It’s just not their focus.”

But Sarah added: “We are always told the King’s door is always open to Harry and Meghan.

“I don’t see an actual, physical invitation being issued but were they to ask [to come and visit] it would be very difficult for the King to say no.

“He doesn’t want this distance with his son and he certainly doesn’t want this barrier between him and his grandchildren.

“He met Lilibet just once and Archie just a handful of times.

“That’s really, really sad.

“Obviously, geography plays a part in that, we’re not going to see the King jumping on a plane and heading to California to see them.”

But she added that the indications were that Meghan had no “desire” to come to the UK.

Sarah said:  “All the signs around Meghan are is that she really doesn’t have any desire to set foot in this country again.

“Prince Harry came back for the service at St Paul’s to mark 10 years of the Invictus Games and they were then heading off on their tour and Meghan dipped into Heathrow Airport and straight back out again, she didn’t come to the UK.”

The royal commentator though did say the whole situation was a “very sorry mess”.

Sarah said: “It’s sad. Mistakes have been made along the way on both sides.

“But as long as there’s… no trust, that’s the fundamental issue here, that those conversations they have are going to end up on a breakfast show or a documentary or on the pages of a book, those conversations just can’t happen.”

The tensions between the Wales’ and the Sussexes was another barrier to stop Meghan coming to Britain, the royal commentator thought
