Kimberly Guilfoyle and her ex-husband, California Governor Gavin Newsom, are engaged in a contentious exchange following her description of him as “unrecognizable” in response to his remarks suggesting she had “fallen prey” to the culture at Fox News.
During her appearance on **The Charlie Kirk Show** on Wednesday, Guilfoyle, 53, addressed Newsom’s criticisms, which he voiced during a CNN podcast where he condemned her shift to a right-wing media persona.
The couple was married for five years before finalizing their divorce in 2006, after Guilfoyle took a position at a New York news organization and subsequently joined Fox News, as reported by the **San Francisco Chronicle**.
Guilfoyle has identified as a “proud Republican and conservative” since the age of 18, emphasizing that Newsom, 55, was fully aware of her political beliefs when they wed.
“I didn’t change; [Newsom] did,” Guilfoyle remarked during the interview. “He used to take pride in advocating for small businesses and hard-working individuals. Now, he has succumbed to the radical left, which has pushed him so far that he is unrecognizable.”

Newsom described his former wife as ambitious and “whip-smart,” recalling that she was associated with prominent Democratic figures when he began his tenure as Mayor of San Francisco in 2004, before she underwent a transformation.
“She was a different person,” Newsom remarked. “At that time, she was working for a progressive district attorney.”
He added, “We were close to Kamala [Harris]; she knew her well and spent considerable time in Democratic circles.”
“She had her ambitions; I had just been elected mayor, and shortly after my election, she moved to New York for a Court TV position, eventually leading her to Fox.”
“She fell prey, I believe, to the culture at Fox in a significant way,” Newsom commented. “She would likely disagree with that view and might argue that she found her true calling.”
In response, Kimberly Guilfoyle has stated that she now sees Newsom as “unrecognizable.”
On the other hand, Newsom, now 48, has four children with his wife, Jennifer. He recently secured re-election as governor of California in November. Speculation continues regarding his political ambitions, as he maintains a national presence and runs campaign ads outside of California.
Political analysts believe that Newsom may be positioning himself as a potential successor to President Biden, despite Biden’s claims that he is not too old to pursue a second term in 2024.
Should Newsom decide to run for president, he would be facing off against Donald Trump, who is Guilfoyle’s future father-in-law.

Melania then apparently said, ‘I got you.’

Melania reportedly then said: ‘It’s a no.’
‘I hear you,’ Trump concluded.
The newly sworn-in president and his glamorous first lady went to three inaugural balls to celebrate the beginning of their second term in the White House.
Trump is only the second president in US history to serve two non-consecutive terms.

The first couple started at the military-themed Commander in Chief Ball, where they also exchanged an intimate moment.
‘I shaved earlier,’ Trump said to his wife of two decades. ‘Can you smell my aftershave?’
‘I know,’ she replied.
The Trumps then headed to the nearby Liberty Ball where they danced onstage with the entire Trump family. Then, they motorcaded to Union Station for the Starlight Ball.
‘We needed three because we have such support,’ Trump told the crowd at the Liberty Ball at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center Monday night.
Melania debuted a leggy, white-and-black gown, which was custom-made by Hervé Pierre, the same designer who crafted her 2017 inaugural outfit.
The crowds waited for hours to see the returned commander-in-chief and he and the first lady, who were finally played on by the United States Marine Band at the Commander in Chief ball a little before 10:30 p.m.
The Trumps did their first slow dance to The Battle Hymn of the Republic, played by the United States Marine Band, before being joined onstage by Vice President J.D. Vance and his wife, Usha.
Both couples then danced with members of the military, as is the custom.
Trump had a dance with a sergeant from the Space Force, while Melania enjoyed one with an Honor Guard member, neither of whom have yet been named.
