Women’s basketball is in an incredible place at the moment. Competition in the WNBA is at an all-time high, while the newly launched Unrivaled league has given players a chance to earn more money than ever before. The revolution of women’s basketball has been made possible by an advent in extremely talented athletes in the sport.
Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese‘s legendary collegiate careers played a role in recent years, but there were trailblazers before them who began paving the way. Perhaps the most influential of those over the past half-decade has been A’ja Wilson. She’s gotten her much-deserved credit by earning three WNBA MVP awards since 2020. And her brand continues to grow with Nike behind her.

A’ja Wilson’s A’One signature shoe expected to come out in May 2025
It’s been an incredible week for Wilson, who had her No. 22 jersey retired by her alma mater, South Carolina, on Monday. On Tuesday, Wilson’s long-awaited signature shoe – the A’One – was finally unveiled, and fans are loving it.
Debuting in a standout pink colorway, Nike plans to release the shoe to the public in May. Wilson says she wants “whoever’s wearing this shoe to feel like they’re top tier in all that they do“.
Wilson joins Breanna Stewart and Sabrina Ionescu as the only WNBA players with signature shoes. They will soon be joined by Clark, who is also with Nike, and Reese, who is with Reebok.
