Caitlin Clark’s boyfriend Connor McCaffery’s younger brother Jack McCaffery got a lot of bashing from Angel Reese’s fans when he chose to make fun of her during a TikTok live. The mainstream media narrative was that Jack wasn’t one of the sober lads- something his brother Connor is regarded as. And now Jack is again in the media for doing something controversial. This time he chose to ditch his family tradition and picked a different college instead of the Iowa Hawkeyes. Connor shared a post of Jack on his social media networking site Instagram handle after the latter decided to commit to the Butler Bulldogs. Jack is the youngest child in his family and was a four-star recruit. He decided against committing to the Iowa Hawkeyes. As per 247 Sports, his father Fran McCaffery is the head coach for the men’s basketball team at the Hawkeyes.

Plus, his elder brother Connor also plied his trade for the Hawkeyes from 2017-2023. Another of his brothers Patrick McCaffery used to play for Iowa from 2019-2024 before moving to Butler Bulldogs. Surely, everyone in the family including Fran must be wanting Jack to come over to Iowa someday. As for his national fame, this isn’t the first time he has come into the limelight. Days ago, he was in the spotlight for a controversial remark. Jack had come live on TikTok from Caitlin Clark’s ex-teammate Jada Gyamfi’s account and was seen asking Gyamfi to rate Reese on a scale of 1-10. His question didn’t go down well with Reese’s fans who took to social media to slam him for his indirect remarks. Though Gyamfi didn’t say anything she too laughed along with him which came across as disrespectful to many and fans were of the thought that she could have stopped Jack.

Jack McCaffery’s Journey to Butler

Jack is the youngest of Fran’s sons. He was positioned at the 51st spot in the class of 2025 by 247Sports. Other than that, he was also the no. 14 among the small forwards in the country. During his freshman season, Jack averaged a decent 9.9 points per game. With his 6 foot 8 inches height, Jack has surely benefited the team by averaging 5 rebounds per game. Jack with his skills impressed a number of colleges including Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, Bryant University, and Iowa. However, he had expressed his resolve to not stay at Iowa in February this year. As per Jack, fans were “tough on Connor” and hence he didn’t want to be a part of the Hawkeyes squad. Now that Jack has committed to Butler, fans would be wishing him luck whereas some of the McCaffery family’s supporters would be hoping that someday Jack would take the stage for Iowa.
