Carrie Underwood Dominates the GMA Stage with a Show-Stopping Performance of ‘Good Girl’!
Carrie Underwood remains one of the few artists who can truly deliver a flawless live performance, and her electrifying rendition of Good Girl at the GMA Summer Concert Series is proof of that. Her powerful vocals, commanding stage presence, and boundless energy have only strengthened over time. The song remains just as incredible as when it first debuted, highlighting Carrie’s enduring talent and deep connection with her audience. From soaring high notes to seamless execution, she continues to captivate fans with performances that leave a lasting impression.
Carrie Underwood is opening up about her highly anticipated return to American Idol as the show’s newest judge, describing the experience as a full-circle moment that “feels like going home.”
In an interview with Good Morning America, the country music superstar reflected on her journey from small-town hopeful to one of the most successful winners in the show’s history.
“There’s so many people that even still work on the show that were there from when I was a contestant,” Underwood said Friday, expressing excitement about reuniting with familiar faces from her time on Season 4.
Underwood’s 2005 victory catapulted her into stardom, launching a legendary career filled with chart-topping hits, sold-out tours, and multiple Grammy wins. Now, nearly two decades later, she’s returning—not as a contestant, but as a mentor and judge, ready to help shape the next generation of musical talent.
“I feel like being on both sides of the coin, I’ll be able to hopefully offer some insight and help, and kind of offer a different viewpoint,” she shared, emphasizing how her firsthand experience will give contestants unique guidance.
While she’s thrilled to join fellow judges Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan, Underwood did acknowledge one personal challenge she’ll have to navigate on the panel: her inability to sugarcoat her opinions.
“I can’t lie,” she admitted with a laugh. “You can tell. I feel like I’ll be very honest, but hopefully, I can be very constructive and encouraging.”
That honesty, however, won’t come with cruelty—Underwood insists she’ll be a kind and supportive judge, even if she has to deliver tough feedback.
“Just ask my kids,” she joked, referring to her two sons, Isaiah, 9, and Jacob, 5, whom she shares with husband Mike Fisher.
With Underwood’s deep connection to the Idol legacy, her return is sure to bring a fresh, heartfelt perspective to the judging panel. Fans can expect a mix of wisdom, sincerity, and a touch of that signature Carrie charm as she helps discover the next music superstar.
