Ellie Simmonds Shares Sweet Baby News with Fans on Instagram
Strictly Come Dancing star and Paralympic swimmer Ellie Simmonds had some heartwarming news to share with her fans! Taking to Instagram, the 30-year-old posted an adorable photo of herself gently cradling a newborn baby.
Ellie looked radiant in a royal blue turtleneck jumper paired with black jeans as she posed alongside her friend Charlotte and Charlotte’s precious little bundle of joy, baby Nirvaan, who was peacefully asleep in Ellie’s arms.
Ellie was meeting Nirvaan for the very first time and couldn’t hold back her excitement. She wrote, “Meeting baby Nirvaan for the first time. Congrats Charl and Jigar 💙,” adding a blue heart emoji to the sweet caption. Charlotte and her partner Jigar recently welcomed their baby, and it’s clear Ellie was thrilled to be part of this special moment.
This happy occasion comes over a year after Ellie parted ways with her boyfriend, Matt Dean, following two years together. In October 2023, a source shared with The Sun: “Ellie and Matt have sadly split, but it was an amicable decision. There’s still a lot of love between them. They both preferred to keep their relationship private, and the same goes for their breakup. Both are doing well.”
Ellie and Matt had known each other since they were toddlers but only started dating in 2021. During their relationship, Matt was a huge source of support for Ellie, even attending the Strictly live shows to cheer her on from the audience. Ellie once revealed how instrumental Matt was in her decision to join the show. She recalled, “I wasn’t sure if I should do it or not. Then I spoke to Matt, and he said, ‘Go for it, Ellie. Take that leap of faith! You won’t know unless you try.’”
Her decision paid off, as Ellie said yes to Strictly and never looked back. “I was so happy I did. We were bouncing around the kitchen like little buzzing bees!” she shared.
