Ever since the Summer Olympics in Paris ended, Colin Kaepernick has become a hot topic for football fans. The former NFL quarterback wants to be part of the USA Olympics team in 2028.

Kaepernick revealed that he wanted to play for the USA Flag Football team because the sport will be part of the Olympics in Los Angeles. He received the vote of former US women’s soccer team captain Megan Rapinoe.

Rapinoe was a special guest during the latest segment of the “A Touch More” podcast with Sue Bird. According to her, Kaepernick deserves a second chance, and she would gladly welcome the 35-year-old as one of the members of the Olympic team.

He [Colin Kaepernick] would be so good in flag football… I would love to see Colin be able to represent America in an Olympics. I think that would be an unbelievably special moment. He’s my flag bearer.

During the final days of the Paris Olympics, Kaepernick spoke with Sky News before attending the men’s basketball gold medal match between the USA and France. The former San Francisco 49ers quarterback revealed he will work hard to be there in LA.

Hopefully we'll be out there. We're gonna work on some things; see if we can make it in there. But we'd love to be out there.

He needs to get in line because the list is massive and it’s growing every other day. Several current NFL players like Tyreek Hill, Joe Burrow, CeeDee Lamb, and Travis Kelce have made inquiries about an opportunity to play for the USA Flag Football team.

However, the biggest pushback will come from Darrell Doucette. The captain and current quarterback of the team doesn’t want outside help and even called himself better than three-time Super Bowl winner Patrick Mahomes.

Megan Rapinoe also wants to see Colin Kaepernick back playing for an NFL team

The 49ers drafted Colin Kaepernick in 2011, and he led them to a Super Bowl appearance under Jim Harbaugh. However, in 2016, the second-round pick made himself the public enemy #1 after kneeling before a game while the National Anthem played inside the stadium. Kaepernick did that as a sign of protest about the violence against the African American community.

A year later, in 2017, he was out of the league and hasn’t been allowed entry ever since. Rapinoe also shares the same DNA. During this time, she used her platform and echoed for the rights of the LGBTQ+ community.

The 39-year-old revealed she wanted to see Kaepernick back in the NFL.

He would be so good in the NFL; let’s just be clear about that. He is still being blackballed from the NFL right now. I think it would be awesome.

Kaepernick time and again has claimed the NFL owners ‘blackballed’ him. He reached out to several of them for trial, but none gave him a chance. Last season he approached the New York Jets after Aaron Rodgers tore his Achilles, but they turned him away.
