Well, it finally happened. Jimmy Butler has been traded away from Miami to Golden State.
After reports saying he was done with trade negotiations with the Warriors less than 24 hours ago, he must have come round and realized his options were limited.
He even signed a two-year $121M extension with the Warriors, so that means he and Steph Curry are locked in for at least the next two seasons.
That’s gotta make Dubs fans happy.
The trade seems be extremely fluid, since Shams reported that Kyle Anderson won’t be going Toronto in the deal. Before then the details were as follows.
Warriors get:
– Jimmy Butler
Heat get:
– Andrew Wiggins
– PJ Tucker
– Protected 1st-round pick
Pistons get:
– Lindy Waters III
– Josh Richardson
– 2nd-round pick
Jazz get:
– Dennis Schroder
Raptors get:
– Kyle Anderson
UPDATE: “Miami is keeping Kyle Anderson for now, sources said. So Wiggins, Tucker and Anderson are in Miami along with the Warriors‘ protected first-rounder,” Shams says.
The NBA world is reacting the news and even Butler himself:
