Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce are like two peas in a pod. Besides dominating the NFL with their telepathic connection on the gridiron, the pair are great friends off the field, as well as pushing each other in every possible aspect of their lives.

The ironic part of their unique friendship is that Kelce is almost 7 years older and holds much seniority in terms of experience in the Kansas City Chiefs room. However, that age gap never dampened their camaraderie.

Kelce recently signed a two-year extension with the reigning Super Bowl winners to complete his bucket list of securing the unprecedented three-peat. Patrick Mahomes praised the 34-year-old for being a true professional and a leader in the locker room as someone rookies and youngsters can look up to.

It’s remarkable, honestly. You see him out there at practice every day. He is working there getting reps [and] he actually gets mad when they take him out.

Patrick Mahomes said about Travis Kelce in Thursday’s presser

In the two-time NFL MVP’s view, it would not bother anyone if Kelce just assumed the role of a coach by standing near the sideline and throwing orders because he knows the playbook inside and out.

He just loves working. It makes my job easier as a leader to push other guys because I can just say, 'Look at the Hall of Famer who's out here practicing harder than anybody.'
