Strictly Come Dancing’s JB Gill has revealed wife Chloe Tangney has been left ‘so jealous’ by his stint on the BBC show.

However the JLS star, 37, who was paired with Amy Dowden and later Lauren Oakley, admitted that she’s not fearful of the series’ infamous curse, but envious of his weight loss.

JB, who shares son Ace,10, and six-year-old daughter Chiara with his wife of ten-years, told The Sun: ‘I’m already getting it in the neck from Chloe, she’s just so jealous’.

‘All my trousers are too big. Honestly, it’s actually a joke. I went on It Takes Two this week and my trousers, they’re a 34 [inches], which is my normal size I could get a fist in between my hip and the trousers. It’s ridiculous!’.

Before adding: ‘I’m probably a 32  [inches] or less now, I haven’t been a 32 since I was at school. That’s how bad it is’.

He said: ‘All my trousers are too big. Honestly, it’s actually a joke’ (Left in August, right earlier this month with Lauren)

JB lost his professional partner, Amy, after she collapsed backstage following the Halloween show and was later forced to quit due to a foot injury and was replaced by Lauren.

Following her exit JB praised Amy for all the work she put in with him during their rehearsals and told The Mirror:  ‘She definitely hasn’t let anybody down. Amy has been an incredible teacher. She has worked so hard for me and obviously it was great that we were able to establish that bond and that connection.

‘From day one, we worked on our partnership and worked on the things that we were passionate about.

‘It’s gutting, like Amy says, that it’s ended in this way but there’s nothing we can do about that now. We continue to look forward. It’s great to have her in my corner still.’

JB added that Lauren has been a ‘fantastic teacher’ whose style is ‘different’ to Amy’s and said the new couple intend to work hard.

Ahead of rehearsals JB told MailOnline earlier this year that he and wife Chloe have ‘incredible communication’ and insisted the so called ‘Strictly curse’ would ‘not change that’.

He explained: ‘We communicate incredibly well and we’ve always said that’s one of the keys to a very successful and strong relationship, let alone marriage. For us, this is not gonna change that at all.

Fans believed the famous ‘Strictly curse’ could finally be nearing its end this year, after bosses announced that they would be introducing chaperones who would be present at all times while couples practice their routines.

JB added: ‘To be honest, I probably have the best wife that you could have, for any contestant doing this show, because she comes from that world.

‘And although she wasn’t a ballroom dancer, we both understand what goes into it. We know that it’s not easy and it’s going to be difficult. She gets it, she’s been on tours herself.

‘She’s obviously had to partner with other people, that’s just part of the world. So she’s very excited for me.

‘Chloe can’t wait to offer advice which I’m also very grateful for because having her mind on things and just little things that I wouldn’t know because I’m not a trained dancer, you know, I’ll be able to hear from her and work alongside my pro with.

‘She can’t wait for the journey to start just like me.’

Some of the most famous victims of the so-called ‘Strictly curse’ include Rachel Riley, who married her professional partner Pasha Kovalev, after splitting from her then-husband Jamie Gilbert while competing on the show in 2013.

Adam Peaty also split from his partner Eiri Munro after competing on Strictly in 2021.

Seann Walsh also split from his girlfriend Rebecca Humphries after he was pictured kissing his dance partner Katya Jones in 2018. She was married to fellow dancer Neil at the time, and they split the following year.

Stacey Dooley is also dating her dance partner Kevin Clifton, and split from her boyfriend Sam Tucknott weeks after she won Strictly.

JB met when Chloe was a back-up dancer for JB’s pop band JLS – while the singer described the big day as ‘the best day of my life’.

Chloe and JB wed on the Scottish Island of Bute with JLS bandmates Aston Merrygold, Marvin Humes and Oritse Williams in attendance.

JB rose to fame as a member of one of the UK’s biggest boybands – JLS, they have accumulated five number one singles, over 10 million record sales worldwide and have won a multitude of awards after competing on X Factor in 2008.
