Sydney Sweeney’s MCU Debut Looks More Likely After Amy Pascal’s Spider-Man 4 Comments: Why Tom Holland- Zendaya’s Love Story Won’t Have the Spotlight
There are truckloads of expectations from the untitled Spider-Man 4 after the brilliant Spider-Man: No Way Home. Tom Holland will return to play Peter Parker who is dealing with being forgotten by the world. While the plot details have remained M.I.A. all this time, producer Amy Pascal has given a little sneak peek into what the film will focus on and it might prove to be a ray of hope for Sydney Sweeney fans.

While Tom Holland and Zendaya are both expected to return to their respective roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there is something about Amy Pascal’s comments on the upcoming film which makes us believe that their love story will not be a prominent part of the script. Enter Black Cat.

Amy Pascal flaunts a very successful career in the entertainment industry and the producer has been a vital part of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man films. She recently joined Deadline for their video series, ‘Behind the Lens’ where she talked about everything and anything under the sun.
During the conversation, the topic of Spider-Man 4 was brought up and Pascal sure had something to say about it. Even though there is no script at the moment, it looks like the team has a basic idea of which direction they want to swing Peter to.
As per Pascal, the film will follow Peter’s struggle with being himself which then forces him to focus solely on being the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. She stated,
We have to deal with the fact that he decided he was going to give up being Peter Parker and he was gonna focus on being Spider-Man, because being Peter Parker was too hard. So that’s what the movie is about.
This probably means that Spider-Man 4 will not be taking on the polarizing multiverse arc and will focus on a more grounded Spider-Man story instead. We are not going to lie, the idea of having something other than the multiverse seems pretty damn refreshing at this point.
That being said, since the film will focus on Peter being Spider-Man, it doesn’t leave much room for a romance between him and Zendaya’s MJ. He is clearly trying to leave his old life behind and whether we like it or not, MJ is a part of his old life.
Can Sydney Sweeney Find a Way into the Film?

Sydney Sweeney already has a superhero film under her belt – Madame Web – but we all know how that went…
Now, with the upcoming Spider-Man film taking a completely different route than before, it makes sense if other Spider-Man characters end up making their way into the MCU, including the popular Black Cat. And who better to bring the role to life other than Sweeney?
Sweeney has been one of the most popular rising actresses today and it’d be no shocker if she gets picked up by Marvel Studios. She has been the top fan cast to play Black Cat and if rumors are to be believed, the fan casting just might become a reality.
As per an industry insider, ‘My Time to Shine Hello,’ Sweeney was offered the role of Black Cat in Spider-Man 4 (via Comic Book Movie). While we don’t know just how much truth there is in these words, Pascal’s comments sure give us hope that this just might be possible after all.
