For the first time in Olympic history, NFL players are looking at the possibility of becoming Olympians because of the introduction of flag football in Los Angeles 2028. Many prominent NFL figures have stepped forward with their names to be considered in flag football.

One such name is the elite quarterback and arguably the face of the NFL, Patrick Mahomes. While the teams across the league just wonder what it’s like to have a player like Mahomes in the lead, who has been astounding everyone with his skills since his rookie year; current U.S. flag football quarterback Darrell Doucette doesn’t want it to happen.

After leading the USA to a gold medal at the 2022 World Games, Doucette told TMZ that he is among the greatest quarterbacks of all time. In the process of doing so, he specifically placed his name above the Chiefs’ superstar quarterbacks. He believes that he’s better than Mahomes in terms of IQ.

At the end of the day, I feel like I’m better than Patrick Mahomes because of my IQ of the game. I know he’s, right now, the best in the league. I know he’s more accurate. I know he has all these intangibles. But when it comes to flag football, I feel like I know more than him.

Doucette said via TMZ Sports.

WOW: Flag Football QB Darrell Doucette says he is a better QB than Patrick Mahomes

He further claimed that the only way he was going to change the perception of the reigning Super Bowl MVP was by defeating him on the field. He clarified that the biggest reason why he believes in being better than Mahomes is because flag football and the NFL are not entirely the same.
