Recently, the entertainment industry was “shaken” when a series of scandals involving rap mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs were exposed. Diddy was arrested on serious charges such as sex trafficking, rape, abuse and extortion. Most of his victims were young artists who were lured into sex parties. With a billion-dollar business empire in hand, Diddy used “soft power” to manipulate new artists. The face of the entertainment industry was once again exposed, shocking the public.
Diddy was arrested on serious charges including sex trafficking, rape, abuse and extortion.
Amidst the Diddy storm, a celebrity who was a victim of sexual abuse has made a shocking move. Social media is currently circulating a video of singer Kesha – the owner of the hit Tik Tok – on stage. On stage, Kesha made her stance on the scandal clear – right after Diddy was arrested by changing the lyrics.
Clip Kesha performing Tik Tok
Kesha’s 2009 hit Tik Tok became a musical icon in the 2010s. The song’s opening line originally referred to “waking up feeling like P. Diddy.” On her latest performance, Kesha bluntly sang “**** P.Diddy.” She also raised her “middle finger,” clearly expressing her opposition and contempt for the sex offender.
Kesha’s shocking move
Kesha made a similar move back in April.
Kesha’s stage was enthusiastically shared by music fans. Everyone understood that Kesha was expressing support for the victims. Kesha was disgusted by P. Diddy, because she had also been sexually abused in the past.
In 2014, Kesha filed a lawsuit to terminate her contract with Sony and stop working with music producer Dr. Luke. Kesha accused Dr. Luke of physical and sexual abuse during a decade of working together. However, Kesha lost the lawsuit in 2020, creating one of the most noisy scandals in the music industry.
Kesha sued Dr. Luke for sexual abuse
Although Kesha ultimately lost the case, the incident still reflects the horrifying reality of the music industry, where women are always at risk of being abused and disrespected. This lawsuit ruined Kesha’s career. After Tik Tok, she has not had any more hits that can surpass the impact of her debut song.
Kesha wants to re-record Tik Tok, change the lyrics to the part related to Diddy
Sharing about changing the lyrics of the Tik Tok song – the part related to Diddy, Kesha shared in a post in August that she would try to own the song. After that, the female singer would re-record, change the lyrics permanently, showing her toughness in fighting against the “sex kingpin”.
