The Indiana Fever gutted out a tough 84-80 win over the Connecticut Sun on Wednesday night, and once again, Caitlin Clark played a starring role in the Fever’s latest victory.
It wasn’t the most explosive performance from Clark (19 PTS, 5 REB, 5 AST, 7/17 FGM), but she guided Indiana’s offense throughout the game, and it yielded another tally in the win column.
Along the way, Clark put together a couple of highlight reel plays against Sun guard DiJonai Carrington. First, Clark used her slick ball-handling skills to get Carrington to run into her own teammate, giving her all the space she needed to bury a three-pointer.
That wasn’t all, though, as Clark refused to let up. After Carrington made a shushing motion after scoring a basket, Clark responded by driving the ball down the other end of the court while she was celebrating and scoring a bucket on her.
Carrington didn’t let this stop her from having a big game of her own (19 PTS, 4 REB, 2 AST, 7/13 FGM), but it’s safe to say Clark got the better of her on these plays, and social media has taken these clips and run with them.
Regardless, Clark will surely only care about getting the win, and that’s precisely what she went out and helped her team do.
