The collision of American Airlines Flight 5342 and an Army helicopter had the entire nation on edge.

The Wednesday night collision between a Black Hawk helicopter and an American Airlines passenger jet killed all 67 people on both aircraft.

In the wake of that collision, officials have now arrested two airport employees after they reportedly leaked video of last week’s tragic midair collision near Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in D.C.

Both employees of the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority have now been charged with making an unauthorized copy of Airports Authority records showing American Airlines Flight 5342 and the army helicopter’s descent into the river.

Mohamed Lamine Mbengue, 21, of Rockville, Maryland, was charged with computer trespass on Friday. The charge is a misdemeanor.

45-year-old Jonathan Savoy of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, was also charged with computer trespass.

According to USA Today, Mbengue was booked into the Arlington County Adult Detention Center and released on his own recognizance, while Savoy was released on a summons by a magistrate assigned to the case.

Cause of Deadly Midair Collision Between American Airlines Flight 5342 And Helicopter Remains Under Investigation

The Wednesday night collision between a Black Hawk helicopter and an American Airlines passenger jet is still under investigation, as the complete wreckage has yet to be taken out of the river.

Officials began raising the wreckage Monday as most victims’ bodies have been recovered from the icy river.

Questions remain over how the midair crash could have happened.
