After a fourth “Meet the Parents” film was reported to be in the works back in December with most of its original stars in talks to return, Robert De Niro confirmed on Wednesday’s episode of “The View” that he will definitely be involved.

Host Sara Haines is the resident “Meet the Parents” fan at the table, so she took the opportunity to not only confirm that a fourth film is happening, but asked De Niro point blank “Will you be involved?”

“Yes,” he said simply.

The actor gave no further details on the plot. In addition to De Niro, it was reported that the films’ stars Ben Stiller, Teri Polo and Blythe Danner were also in talks to reprise their characters.

John Hamburg, who wrote the screenplays for the three previous films, is also set return in the same role. Jane Rosenthal and De Niro will produce through Tribeca Enterprises, while Stiller and John Lesher will produce through Red Hour Films and “Meet the Parents” director Jay Roach will produce through Delirious Media.

EVP of Production Development Matt Reilly and director of Production Development Jacqueline Garrell will oversee the project for Universal.

Sara Haines did not push for any spoilers, but she did circle back to the first film, asking De Niro to recount how he got the famous lie detector scene into the film, which he revealed to GQ earlier this month.

“Yes I got it from somebody I knew who was in the CIA,” De Niro told the ABC hosts. “And then I thought this is very interesting, maybe this is something we could do.”
