Megyn Kelly thinks Rachel Maddow should be punished for going after her MSNBC bosses following Joy Reid’s firing.

On Tuesday’s episode of “The Megyn Kelly Show,” the host unpacked MSNBC’s choice to fire Reid – and end her show “TheReidOut” – and Maddow’s call-out later in the day. Kelly slammed the MSNBC host for rubbing “s–t” in her boss’ face.

“She really is one of the most annoying people on television,” Kelly said. “She oozes sanctimony and self-righteousness, and here’s the real capper. She took her boss’ faces and rubbed them in s–t last night.”

Kelly added, “She should be fired. They won’t fire her, because I won’t say the P word, but they are a bunch of P’s, and she’s the only one who comes close to putting numbers on the board. … But what she got away with on the air last night was absolutely disrespectful, and it was insubordinate, and it is just evidence of how she is somebody who evinces an affected or hypocritical holiness, a feeling or display of moral superiority.”

Maddow went on her show Monday night and said the choice to let Reid and other MSNBC host Katie Phang go felt “indefensible” and felt “unnerving” to her at this period in time.

“I will tell you. It is also unnerving to see that on a network where we’ve got two – count them – two nonwhite hosts in primetime, both of our nonwhite hosts in primetime are losing their shows, as is Katie Phang on the weekend,” she said. “And that feels worse than bad, no matter who replaces them. That feels indefensible. And I do not defend it.”

MSNBC will replace “TheReidOut” with a new show hosted by “The Weekend” anchors Symone Sanders Townsend, Michael Steele and Alicia Menendez in the 7 p.m. ET slot. Former Joe Biden press secretary Jen Psaki will also have her show “Inside With Jen Psaki” expanding to air Tuesday-Friday.
