Alarm bells for the Philadelphia Eagles three days before the Super Bowl: several players are sick

Various reports from New Orleans claim that the Philadelphia Eagles camp is in critical condition ahead of Super Bowl LIX as several players are reportedly suffering from illnesses that have even curtailed their promotional activities on media day and have prevented them from training regularly.

Team members wear masks at all times

A report from the Philadelphia Inquirer claims that right tackle Lane Johnson said he knew of “four or five of his teammates who were sick“, even from before traveling to New Orleans to play in the Super Bowl.

The same outlet claims that “some team members have been wearing masks recently“, perhaps as a solution to prevent the spread of whatever disease is out there

For its part, another report was released by NBC Sports Philadelphia, which claims that Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio said that “an illness is going around with some of the team members“.

Specific known cases

It is already known that defensive tackle Jalen Carter was limited in practice and was sent to rest, which is why he was not available to the media on Wednesday, and that Quinyon Mitchell is suffering from laryngitis.

Although nothing has been said about other players and their ailments, things do not look good for Philadelphia. However, in the camp they are not flagellating themselves and see the glass half full, as everyone publicly states that the Eagles are ready to face the Chiefs and that “no one is sick enough to miss the Super Bowl”.
