Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever’s recent hot streak came to a screeching halt on Wednesday night against the Las Vegas Aces, as they suffered an 86-75 defeat.

Clark certainly wasn’t at her best in this one (16 PTS, 6 AST, 3 REB, 6/22 FGM), as she struggled to make her typical impact for the Fever.

However, if you ask Dave Portnoy, she may not have gotten much help from the referees throughout this game. While Portnoy acknowledged Clark didn’t have her best outing, he blasted the referees for an offensive foul they called on the star rookie during the game.

Clark has dealt with an incredible level of physicality in her rookie campaign, and compared to some of the hits she has taken this season, this is a pretty weak call.

At the end of the day, though, it wasn’t the reason why the Fever lost this game, so there’s no sense getting too worked up about it.

Portnoy certainly makes a good point, but chances are Clark isn’t thinking about it anymore, and is instead focusing on leading Indiana to a win in their rematch with the Aces on Friday night.
