Caitlin Clark entered the WNBA hoping to continue revolutionizing women’s basketball, just like she did at Iowa. At least, that’s what her fans expected. What many of her fans might not have known is that the WNBA was already littered with elite talent; they just needed more exposure.

Clark, Angel Reese and others have helped in that regard, but A’ja Wilson has developed a large fanbase all by herself. Her dominance on the court has led to three WNBA MVP awards, but more impressively, it has led to her getting her own signature shoe with Nike. Now, she has stepped it up another notch, being named as one of Time Magazine’s Women of the Year.

Wow! A’ja Wilson steals the spotlight with her dazzlingly sexy game-day looksTikTok

A’ja Wilson is committed to staying with the Las Vegas Aces

Given the debut of her shoe and this new accolade, Wilson has made plenty of media appearances recently. In her most recent one, she revealed something that will please every Las Vegas Aces fan and scare other franchises.

That’s more of a front-office question, but Vegas will forever be my home. I was their first draft pick ever of the franchise, so they really brought me in. And the things that we’ve done — straight out the gate, we set the standard for the league to follow, and we put a lot of other franchises in the league on their heels. If I could retire an Ace, I would love to. I don’t see myself putting on any different jersey.

Wilson has been with the Aces since 2018, her rookie season. Together, they have won two WNBA Championships and become a gold standard for the league.

Her contract with Las Vegas runs through the 2025 season, so she could possibly hit the free agent market next offseason. It seems unlikely, though, as long as she’s the one calling the shots.
