Will Cain, a popular co-host of the weekend edition of “Fox & Friends” will take over the 4 p.m. slot at Fox News Channel anchored for many years by Neil Cavuto, part of a series of programming changes in daytime and weekends at both the network and its sister outlet Fox Business Network.

Cain will start in the new weekday role on January 21. The show will be called “The Will Cain Show,” replacing “Your World.”

“Will Cain brings years of experience to the 4 PM hour as an accomplished broadcaster and a lawyer and we look forward to adding his insights to what will no doubt be another historic news cycle ahead this year,” said Suzanne Scott, CEO of Fox News Media, in a statement.

The network will bring a format to the hour that may be less familiar to veteran viewers. Cain’s new program, Fox News said, “will offer a comprehensive look at the news of the day in a signature podcast style.” Cain’s last appearance on “Fox & Friends Weekend” will come on January 18, and he will move to his new late-afternoon weekday duties on January 21. Charlie Hurt will replace Cain on the weekend program. Hurt, who has been the opinion editor of The Washington Times, will give up that position, but will continue to write a column for that publication.

Cain previously led a daily radio show at ESPN, and appeared on the morning-debate show “First Take.” Before that, he was a political analyst for CNN and was a host on The Blaze and a media entrepreneur. ” Cain attended law school at the University of Texas and received his undergraduate degree from Pepperdine University.

Scott unveiled other changes. On weekends, “The Fox Report” will move to 3 p.m., and expand to two hours on Saturdays and Sundays. “The Big Weekend Show” will also expand to two hours, starting at 6 p.m. “Fox News Live” will continue to air from 10 a.m. to noon with rotating substitute anchors for the interim. “The Journal Editorial Report” will move to 2 p.m. on Saturdays

On Fox Business, Dagen McDowell will add to her duties, joining “The Big Money Show,” which will expand to two hours starting at noon weekdays. Degen will look at market news alongside Taylor Riggs, Jackie DeAngelis and Brian Brenberg. She will continue to co-host “The Bottom Line” on the network in early evenings.
