The Oscars experienced a stir of controversy, as reported by ALLOD insiders, when Kevin Costner withdrew from presenting the Lifetime Achievement Award. Initially scheduled to present the prestigious award, Costner’s participation was abruptly halted upon discovering the identity of this year’s honoree.
At the Oscars, a surprising turn of events unfolded when Kevin Costner abruptly refused to present the Lifetime Achievement Award upon learning Whoopi Goldberg was the recipient. According to ALLOD insiders, upon hearing Goldberg’s name, Costner reportedly said, “Oh hell no,” handed the envelope to Cheryl, and retreated to his seat.
Cheryl, who had no direct involvement in the presentation, then passed the envelope to the nearest person, Keanu Reeves. Reeves accepted the envelope and promptly handed it to Joe Barron, following Costner back to his seat.
Barron commented, “When you can’t even get Keanu Reeves to present your award, there’s a good chance you should just retire. He’s like…the nicest guy alive. He told me handing the award to Goldberg would put a target on his back. He doesn’t even go to the marina.”
The situation appears to be a peculiar twist, almost as if it was staged to test reactions. Nonetheless, Costner and Reeves have certainly kept the drama alive for another day.
