Anthony Davis Remark Leaves LeBron James Visibly Irritated With Reporter After Lakers’ Tough Loss to Hawks
It was almost like the Lakers gave away the game on a platter to the Hawks. It was all going south for the Lakers at the late end of the contest against the Atlanta Hawks. The game went into overtime, and LeBron James held the team’s offense together to keep the float above the water. But it couldn’t survive a late blunder from Anthony Davis that cost the game for the LA side. However, the ‘King’ refused to believe it and lost his cool at a reporter for calling it out.
With 28 seconds left in the game, the Lakers held a one-point over the host. Most importantly, they had possession of the ball. They just had to play the remainder of the game safely to secure the win. Unfortunately, it was just a series of fumble plays, one after the other. Firstly, AD gave a bad pass to Bron, which was stolen by Dyson Daniels for a flush. That said, the superstar chased him down for a block, and the Lakers got possession back after a review.
Following that, they lost the possession again in the bound pass after three Hawks defenders tied down Davis. And in the jump ball, the Lakers gave away the possession to the Hawks. Guess what? Trae Young sealed the deal with a three-point dagger.
Amid LeBron James’ camaraderie, what’s Anthony Davis’ message for miscommunication?
The Lakers have lost seven of their last 10 games, and they are currently on a three-game losing streak. The team certainly hasn’t got off to a better run under JJ Redick. Notably, the LA side still seems to have the same old nagging problem on the defensive end. Anthony Davis himself has spoken about it multiple times.
A few weeks ago, the Lakers were amidst a similar stretch. At that time, speaking to the media, AD had a solution for the team’s lack of efficiency on the defensive end. He said, “Communication. A big part of it just communicating. Covering for one another, trusting each other. We all try to do the right thing with the lack of communication that goes on… We not mind readers, so we’re not talking you… I think we just pick up our communication and we’ll be fine on the defensive end.”
Ironically, the superstar himself fumbled at the end and ultimately gave away the game to the Hawks with a series of miscues on the defensive end. However, LeBron James still seems to trust his wingman. Will the Lakers overcome their slump and help the superstar’s cause to win the fifth ring? Let us know in the comments.
