WNBA Fans Are Saying The Same Thing About Caitlin Clark’s MVP Bid After Loss To A’ja Wilson, Aces

The Las Vegas Aces proved on Wednesday, September 11, why they are the two-time defending champs. A’ja Wilson also came out with a clear statement as to why she is a two-time WNBA MVP and is well on her way to winning her third Most Valuable Player trophy.

Caitlin Clark: ‘Our matchup is great for basketball’

Wilson, who missed Las Vegas’ last game due to a leg injury, did not only play through the issue on Wednesday against Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever. The six-time All-Star balled out and did not look like she was bothered by the injury whatsoever.

Wilson finished with a game-high 27 points on 11-of-28 shooting, to go along with 12 rebounds, two assists, two steals, three blocks and zero turnovers in a truly dominant display. A’ja led the Aces to an 86-75 victory to mark their fifth win in their last six games.

Clark, who some believe has emerged as a real threat to Wilson’s MVP bid, did not have the best of games in this one. The rookie sensation logged 16 points on 6-of-22 shooting and 1-of-10 from beyond the arc, three rebounds, six assists and five turnovers in 38 minutes of play.

Clark did not look the part of an MVP candidate against Las Vegas, and the fans on X, formerly Twitter, are all saying the same thing.

“Aja Wilson is the MVP and tonight’s game made that clear in spades. Wilson made Cat Lady Clark look like a High Schooler at BB camp. Friday will be the same,” said a user.

“6-25 and yall said Caitlin Clark was MVP ?????” a comment read.

“There’s a Grand Canyon size gap between A’ja and Clark, please put those MVP takes to a rest, do not embarrass yourself,” said another.

“There were people telling me that Caitlin Clark deserves MVP over A’ja. Yall are truly a joke,” tweeted a fan.

“Talking about Clark “mvp” 🤣 Wilson shut all that down,” a reaction read.

Even Clark’s own fans could not help but come to the same conclusion.

“Unlike CC, A’ja was locked in! Clear MVP Wish Clark would just focus on ball and not this other nonsense,” reacted a supporter.

“i’m hanging up my mvp agenda 😔🏳️” declared a die-hard Clark fan.

Much like how Clark’s Rookie of the Year battle against Angel Reese appears to have been won in favor of the Fever guard, the same can probably be said about Wilson’s seemingly indisputable claim to the MVP throne.
