The video of the controversy that has many fans wondering if Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul was rigged...

Fans are wondering if Iron Mike Tyson was paid to lose to Jake Paul after a video on social media after The Baddest Man on the Planet appeared to hold back on Friday, November 15 before losing via unanimous decision.

The 58-year-old made his return to professional boxing for the first time since 2005 at the Arlington Stadium in Texas but fans were left underwhelmed when he appeared to lack the ability to make an impression in the bout.

That was save the first round, when he got in some decent licks on his 27-year-old opponent but then simply stopped doing so, or was unable to. Afterwards, The Problem Child took control of affairs and cruised to a dominant 80-72, 79-73, 79-73 triumph.

Now fans are wondering if part of the conditions for Tyson to claim $20m in prize winnings were that he could not knock out Paul and had to lose, as they claim the event was rigged in the YouTuber’s favor.

One user posted to X.com, formerly Twitter, “Right here is where Mike said, ‘Whoops, I gotta stop or I won’t get paid’. #rigged #paultyson.”

A second added, “A lot of comments say it was scripted. I agree and add that it seemed like Jake wrote the script.”

Whilst a third wrote, “All rigged. Mike held back the whole fight.”

Tyson opens up on almost dying before fight

The fight was initially booked to take place on July 20 but had to be cancelled when Tyson suffered an ulcer flare up aboard a flight, thus being postponed on medical grounds as Paul took on Mike Perry instead.

And Iron Mike revealed he almost died and lost 25lbs in hospital, considering himself a winner for being able to get into the ring, which might be why he seemed to be so lethargic and unable to keep up with the 27-year-old.

This is one of those situations when you lost but still won,” Tyson wore to X.com. “I’m grateful for last night. No regrets to get in ring one last time.

“I almost died in June. Had 8 blood transfusions. Lost half my blood and 25lbs in hospital and had to fight to get healthy to fight so I won.

“To have my children see me stand toe to toe and finish 8 rounds with a talented fighter half my age in front of a packed Dallas Cowboy stadium is an experience that no man has the right to ask for. Thank you.”
