Angel Reese Appears To React To Caitlin Clark Winning Rookie Of The Year

To the surprise of virtually no one, Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark was named the WNBA’s Rookie of the Year this past weekend, claiming the prestigious honor after a record-setting season.

Clark’s biggest opponent for the award throughout the year was Chicago Sky guard Angel Reese, whose own campaign for the award was cut short earlier this month by a season-ending injury. Reese set a number of records of her own for her rebounding prowess, but even before her injury Clark was pulling away in the Rookie of the Year race in a big way.

Taking to X shortly after the awards were announced, Reese gave what appeared to be her reaction to Clark winning Rookie of the Year. She didn’t acknowledge Clark by name, but most believe that it was a comment about her award win regardless.

“Woke up again a very blessed girl, a very happy girl,” Reese wrote on X.

Fans in the comments and reposts gave Reese props for her 2024 season and wished her the best moving forward:

“Forever the best Rookie I have ever witnessed.. May not be the most skilful but definitely showed class in mentality, dedication and resilience. You are a true example for every young athlete and everyone knows that Whether you win the ROTY or not. You are made for the (top),” one user wrote.

“I know it’s a tall order with A’ja Wilson still playing basketball…but I need an Angel Reese MVP caliber year injected into my veins next season,” another declared.

“Can’t wait to see you get back out there and keep dominating,” a third wrote.

Reese may not be Caitlin Clark, but she seems to have a very bright future and plenty of fans ready to support her on her WNBA journey.
