Adam Lambert Nails “The Muffin Man” as Cher on Jimmy Fallon, Delivering a Hilarious and Flawless Performance That Had Everyone in Stitches

It’s no secret that Adam Lambert is one of the greatest modern vocal talents, but this song really stretched his skills to the limit! Jimmy Fallon put Lambert up to covering “The Muffin Man” in the style of Cher, to which the pop star doubled over in mirth after hearing the request. Ever a trooper, Lambert got straight to the task, singing the nursery rhyme to the tune of Cher’s megahit “Believe.”

It won’t surprise readers to hear that Lambert knocked it out of the park vocally and comedically. His opening line had Fallon and his other guests doubling over, and the whole room was hyped for what Lambert was laying down. Lambert always nails anything he sings, but this time around, it was really great to see him flex his comedic chops. He definitely nailed it with this cheeky performance!

The look of joy on everyone’s faces during the performance, both onstage and in the crowd, really said it all. Lambert gave his Cher impression on Wheel of Musical Impressions on a Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon episode that was uploaded on YouTube on April 17, 2023. The clip proved to be quite popular with fans online, who tuned in 4.6 million times for the one-of-a-kind performance.

Fans were impressed by Lambert’s delivery and added comments such as “Adam Lambert still hands down one of the most phenomenal male singers of all time. There is nothing that he can’t sing” and “His laugh in the middle of singing just gets me every time. It shows how fun singing can be to him and I just love his passion.” Lambert must have enjoyed his appearance on Fallon, as he later mashed up “The Muffin Man” with his cover of “Believe” at his show at the Summertime Ball on June 11, 2023.

Cher dropped “Believe” on October 19, 1998, as the lead single from her 22nd studio album of the same name. The song was penned by a team of seven songwriters, with Cher herself contributing a significant amount of lyrics in the second verse. However, she was not listed on the songwriting credits, and in 2023 she said she regretted not requesting a credit. “Believe” went to number one in 23 countries and shifted more than 11 million units. Readers may know the tune as Cher’s signature song, and it is still the highest-selling single ever by a female solo artist.
