At 78, Cher stole the show at the 2024 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show

At 78, Cher stole the show at the 2024 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, performing “Strong Enough” and “Believe” with incredible energy. Dancing alongside backup dancers and models, her powerful vocals created a breathtaking performance. Fans are calling it one of her best yet, and we love seeing her redefine what it means to be a legend.

Cher raised the roof at 78 years old at the 2024 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, slaying with her hits “Strong Enough” and “Believe.” She grooved on her ’90s hits with an energetic performance ringed by a cadre of backup dancers, and later on, Victoria’s Secret models strutting their stuff. It’s easy to see why Cher chose these two particular songs for the event, as the assertive and powerful message of the lyrics matched perfectly with the models performing at the top of their game on the catwalk.

The performance had a triumphant and fun vibe to it, as Cher and the dancers all wore big smiles after the beat dropped on “Strong Enough,” and even the models managed a cheeky grin every now and then. The audience was absolutely eating it up, and sent up big cheers at regular intervals as Cher rocked the stage. Here at The Music Man, we sure are glad to see Cher still killing it onstage after more than six decades in the industry.

Cher’s performance went live on YouTube on October 16, 2024. The Californian star has been known as a style icon throughout her career, so it’s very fitting for her to appear at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Fans at home couldn’t get enough and added comments such as “Cher’s stage presence and charisma are truly unmatched. She is a living legend and this performance just proves it.” and “This was a showstopper. You can see the absolute joy from the other performers to share the stage with an icon like Cher.”

Cher’s songs have always come fully to life in the live arena. One of her most popular performances in recent years is when she dropped into the Billboard Music Awards in 2017 to perform “Believe” and “If I Could Turn Back Time.” Cher again brought a stunning production with ace backup dancers for the awards, and really put on a show like only she can.

Cher released her 22nd studio album Believe on October 22, 1998. The Music Man readers may recall that the album featured “Believe” and “Strong Enough” as the first and second singles respectively. Cher enjoyed back-to-back US Platinum records in the late ’80s, but her career had taken a significant commercial dip in the first half of the ’90s. Believe was therefore a huge comeback for Cher, putting her on top of the charts again with a four-times Platinum album in her homeland.
