A 2011 interview on the Rachel Ray show has resurfaced amid the allegations against Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs where Taylor Swift admits she’d bring the disgraced mogul to prom with her
Various celebrities have made comments about Sean “Diddy” Combs that have not aged well.
After Combs’ arrest for crimes ranging from sex trafficking to racketeering, videos of the disgraced music mogul have resurfaced with a different connotation. Videos of celebrities talking about or with Combs also surfaced with the most recent one involving Taylor Swift.
The resurfaced interview was from 2011 and showed the Shake It Off singer on The Rachel Ray Show.
What has Taylor Swift said about Diddy?
Rachel hosted a segment of the show named after the star called “Swift Decision” where she would answer rapid-fire questions by holding up paddles with celebrity faces on them.
Rachel asked Taylor: “Who would you have taken to the prom?” The star didn’t hesitate as she chose a gaggle of celebrities and held up paddles with Combs, Katy Perry, Jennifer Lipez, Sheryl Crow, and Justin Timberlake on them.
“It would be a group, and it would be a really fun group,” Taylor said about her grouping. Rachel responded in surprise: “No way! Check that out! That’s a group! Now, why, why that spectacular array of people?”
Taylor admitted: “Diddy’s really always been very nice to me.” The celebrity chef turned talk show host shared the sentiment that the now disgraced rapper was a good person.
“He’s a gentleman, isn’t he? He’s a lovely gentleman,” Rachel said. Taylor responded: “I really – he would be fun to be in the prom group.”
The 2011 clip has made its way onto TikTok and fans of Taylor seem to cringe rewatching it now in 2024. One user on the social media app commented: “Oopsie.”
Other commenters wrote that the clip “didn’t age well” and some went as far to say it “aged like milk.” One Swiftie stood up for the singer who couldn’t have known what was allegedly going on behind closed doors.
“As a millennial, we looked up to these people. we didn’t know what was really going on,” they wrote, “This is like fearless/speak now Taylor. she like 19-21 here.”
Another fan believed that Taylor’s mom, Andrea Swift, wouldn’t have let Taylor go to any of the alleged “freak off” parties that Combs threw. “Momma swift would have never let Taylor Hangout at diddys! Icannot even imagine. Gotta love that she had good parental guidance growing up in the industry. #lovemommaswift.”
Inside Diddy’s arrest and lawsuits

Diddy is currently awaiting trial after he was arrested and charged with sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, transportation, and engaging in prostitution. He has vehemently denied any wrongdoing and pleaded not guilty in court.
Tony Buzbee has already filed several lawsuits against Diddy and previously claimed to have 120 individuals who have either sued, or are planning to sue, Combs. Responding to the announcement of the lawsuits, Combs’ attorney Erica Wolff said: “We cannot address every meritless allegation in what has become a reckless media circus. That said, Mr. Combs emphatically and categorically denies as false and defamatory any claim that he sexually abused anyone, including minors.”
She concluded: “He looks forward to proving his innocence and vindicating himself in court if and when claims are filed and served, where the truth will be established based on evidence, not speculation.”
In a second statement about the lawsuits, Diddy’s attorneys told The Mirror US: “The press conference and 1-800 number that preceded today’s barrage of filings were clear attempts to garner publicity. Mr. Combs and his legal team have full confidence in the facts, their legal defenses, and the integrity of the judicial process. In court, the truth will prevail: that Mr. Combs has never sexually assaulted anyone — adult or minor, man or woman.”
