Ja Morant Falls Victim to $1M Burglary Raid, Joining Kelce and Mahomes as Latest Sports Star Targeted by International Crime Ring

NBA star Ja Morant was the victim of a shocking $1 million burglary at his home in December, making him the latest in a string of professional athletes targeted by an international crime ring.

Morant, 25, whose home was raided while he was playing a game for the Memphis Grizzlies against the Golden State Warriors, is mentioned in a federal complaint that was recently unsealed. The document reveals that Morant’s property was burglarized on December 20 at approximately 4 p.m.

According to reports from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, the crime occurred during a time when Morant was away. The burglars made off with around $1 million in valuables, including cash, jewelry, and other high-end items. Authorities are currently investiga

Cincinnati Bengals quarter-back Joe Burrow, Milwaukee Bucks player Bobby Portis and an unidentified Tampa Bay Buccaneers star also fell victim to the burglary gang,

The complaint listed seven defendants – Pablo Cartes, Ignacio Cartes, Bastian Freraut, Jordan Sanchez, Bastian Morales, Alexander Chavez and Sergio Cabello.

They are charged with conspiracy to commit interstate transportation of stolen property and face a maximum penalty of 10 years behind bars.

Some of the men were arrested in a traffic stop in which cops found LSU merch in the trunk, which is believed to belong to former LSU player Burrow.

They are alleged to be part of a South American theft group, with the Department of Justice releasing a photo of three of the seven men.

They were posing with a safe that contained cash, jewelry and watches which authorities believe was taken from the home of Milwaukee Bucks star Bobby Portis.

One of the members in the photo was wearing a Kansas City Chiefs jersey.

Cops believe that shirt has a link to the Mahomes and Kelce burglaries in October.

A burglary was reported at Mahomes’ estate at around midnight on October 6.

And Kelce’s house was broken into on October 7, police records said.

Kelce’s jewelry worth over $100,000, his first Super Bowl jersey, and designer clothes were stolen from his Kansas City home in the break-ins, which police believe were carried out by an international crime ring.

Police found Kelce’s watch in Providence, Rhode Island – more than 1,400 miles from Kelce’s home in Leawood, Kansas, in Kansas City’s metropolitan area.

The burglars appeared to know what they were looking for as they were in and out of the mansion within 15 minutes, a security source told ABC News.

Cops didn’t initially reveal that a watch was stolen from the Chiefs star but said $20,000 in cash was taken in the break-in.

A source told The U.S. Sun, “Travis got upset as they stole some important items, including his first Super Bowl jersey.

“And to have someone get into his private home is something he really got [uncomfortable] about.”
