Former Iowa Hawkeyes Caitlin Clark and Kate Martin created quite a solid bond together during their college basketball careers.

While the duo never managed to secure the Iowa women’s basketball program its first ever National Championship, they came agonizingly close.

Martin returned to Iowa yesterday in order to talk with the Hawkeyes about how they can succeed next season without her and Clark. Her main message was about self-belief and support in one another.

This strong message convinced X user @EricaFride21542 to post a passionate declaration Martin made about Clark during halftime of their 2024 NCAA Final Four game against Paige Bueckers and the UConn Huskies.

“What’s the score? Clark asked.

“We’re down six,” Martin responded.

“And our shots are going to fall,” Martin continued. “I mean Caitlin, you’re a f****** dog. Like, we have the most confidence in you ever. So you’re fine.”

Clark scored 21 points in the second half of that game; leading Iowa to a 71-69 win that sent them to the NCAA Championship Game.
