As Nyong’o celebrated her 41st birthday on Monday, the stars were spotted kissing up on a lengthy birthday trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

In photos that PEOPLE was able to obtain, the two could be seen heading into the ocean together, and in another, they were spotted cuddling up by the surf and almost sharing a kiss. The couple also remained close, walking the beach in their bikinis while holding hands.

They went on vacation to Puerto Vallarta for Lupita’s birthday, an insider tells PEOPLE. All they could see of each other was each other for the entire weekend. They were having the best time together overall, laughing and kissing.

After being spotted together during a Janelle Monáe performance in October 2023 in Los Angeles, Jackson, 45, and Nyong’o became romantically linked. The now-couple pretended to be on a platonic outing to the concert with other Hollywood acquaintances.

There was a sighting after Jackson’s divorce from wife Jodie Turner-Smith, who filed for divorce at the beginning of October. A prior source stated that “they are on very different paths in life” and that “it turned into an unhealthy marriage that made her unhappy” in reference to the decision to file for divorce.
