As the pair chatted about their favorite foods, Consuelos mentioned that Ripa loves limes.

This prompted Ripa to reminisce about her pregnancy cravings, saying, “When I was pregnant—do you remember?—I would eat—”

Before she could finish, Consuelos blurted out, “Everything.”

The audience erupted in laughter while Ripa shot him a sharp look, clearly unimpressed by his choice of words. Realizing his mistake, Consuelos began nervously laughing, trying to backtrack.

“Wait, did I—I said that?” he stammered. “It happened. It happened. I actually thought it, and it just—it came out of my mouth.”

After Consuelos confirmed that he was, in fact, done, Ripa clarified that she had an unusual craving during pregnancy—eating entire limes and lemons, skin included.

“I used to eat whole limes and lemons with the skin on them,” she revealed. “It was a weird food fixture.”

Consuelos then recalled a specific memory from that time in their lives. He described a road trip they took to San Diego for the Soap Opera Digest Awards, where they came across a roadside fruit stand selling limes.

“She’s like, ‘Pull over, I need a lime,’” he recounted. “And you just ate the whole thing.”

Ripa confirmed the story with a laugh, saying, “Yeah, with the skin and everything. Wild, right?”

As Consuelos continued, he mentioned that they had rented a car for the trip. Seizing the moment for a witty comeback, Ripa quipped, “And then apparently, I ate the man selling the limes.”

The hilarious exchange had the audience in stitches, but it also left Consuelos slightly flustered. At one point, he lost track of the conversation entirely.

“Wait, why are we even talking about limes?” he asked, clearly confused.
