Michael Bublé’s The Voice Strategy Backfires as Country Star Kelsea Ballerini Dominates, but Bublé Strikes Back with a Bold Move!

Even though he’s the reigning champion of The Voice, Coach Michael Bublé has had little luck convincing Country Artists to choose his team over Nashville’s own Kelsea Ballerini.

Their battle over Page Mackenzie during Season 27’s Blind Auditions was no different.

The 32-year-old party bike driver has been grinding in Nashville for years, and hoping that her performance of the Pistol Annies’ “Hell on Heels” would be enough to take her to the next stage of her musical career. So, is it a big shock she was leaning toward Team Kelsea? She may be a brand-new Coach, but even Adam Levine was advising Mackenzie to choose her.

Undeterred, Bublé introduced himself as “Country & Western star Michael Bublé,” adding that he was introduced to the genre at a young age by his parents, Carla and Ed. He did admit, though, that he looked up Ballerini on Wikipedia and, let’s say, borrowed elements of her biography; Carla and Ed are her parents’ names. “Lies. He’s a liar,” Ballerini said. It’s his second lie of the season; Bublé previously promised an Artist he’d get her name tattooed on his arm if she joined his team.

To no one’s surprise, Mackenzie went with Ballerini, though she was polite enough to thank Bublé for his chair turn. “It’s the kiss of death when they say your name twice,” Bublé remarked wryly afterward.

All The Voice Coaches are haunted by the Country singers sticking together

During the second episode of Blind Auditions in Season 27, Braxton Garza’s deep, Southern voice charmed the Coaches, and they saw his Country leanings a mile away. In fact, Coach Adam Levine didn’t even bother turning his chair. “When it came to voices like yours, my heart has been broken so many times,” Levine told Garza, referencing his many years sitting across from Coach Blake Shelton.

But for once, Bublé outsmarted the Country club: He used his Block to prevent Ballerini from getting Garza and took him for himself. “I was so proud of myself for using that Block the right way. You think I didn’t learn from a whole season with Reba McEntire?” Bublé bragged.
