Actress and comedienne, Roseanne Barr does not have a new television show and has never had one that debuted with more than a billion views, as claimed in social media posts re-surfacing a narrative that originated on a satirical website.


A Facebook post, opens new tab on August 25 with side-by-side photos of Barr and “The View” host Whoopi Goldberg was captioned: “BREΑKING NEWS: Roseanne’ꜱ New Show Explodes Onto The Scene With Record-Breaking 1 Billion Views In First Episode, Crushing The View!”

The post linked to an article, opens new tab on a Vietnam-based website with no publication date, which does not name the show, premiere date, channel, streaming service or platform, or provide any sources for its statements.
As of September 9, there are no credible reports of Barr hosting a new show on any television networks or streaming services. Her website, opens new tab, updated on September 8 with a social media post and a clip from her podcast, also does not mention any upcoming television shows.

In December 2023, satirical website The Dunning-Kruger Times published an article, opens new tab with a similar headline, “Roseanne’s Show Breaks The View’s Daytime Viewership Record – Then Shatters It,” that included the line, “The show will go live to the public once it stops being a figment of this reporter’s imagination.”
