THE Kansas City Chiefs continue to add pieces to their roster as they attempt to win a third straight Super Bowl.

JuJu Smith-Schuster will sign with the team after being cut from the New England Patriots, NFL Insider Jordan Shultz reported.

Smith-Schuster will likely sign at his veteran minimum of $1.21 million for 2024.

He now joins a loaded offense that includes Travis Kelce, Isaiah Pacheco, Marquise “Hollywood” Brown, Rashee Rice, and Xavier Worthy.

NFL Fans have taken to social media to share their thoughts on the defending Super Bowl champion’s move.

“I don’t want to hear Mahomes doesn’t have any help ever again,” raged one fan.

“Rip to the league lol Mahomes 3 peat incoming,” predicted a second fan.

“I don’t think y’all know how lethal this is. The Chiefs now have a weapon for every part of the field,” claimed a third fan.

“Mahomes has unstoppable weapons at his disposal, this isn’t fair,” a fourth wrote to X, adding a crying emoji.

“Like if the Chiefs don’t have a good enough squad already haha.. good pick up!” a fifth fan said.

Smith-Schuster rejoins the team after playing for them during the 2022 season.

In his 2022 campaign with the Chiefs, JuJu caught 78 receptions for 933 yards and scored three touchdowns.

Smith-Schuster played well in the playoffs for the Chiefs helping them defeat the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl 57.

In three playoff games, he pulled in 10 receptions for 89 receiving yards.

The signing comes after newly acquired Chiefs wide receiver Brown suffered an injury.

Brown, who suffered a dislocation of his sternoclavicular shoulder joint earlier this preseason, has not yet been confirmed for the team’s season opener.

The former Arizona Cardinal is joining his third team in six years and is looking to break out with the Chiefs.

While Brown is only earning a $3.5 million base salary with a $3 million signing bonus, he has the opportunity to grow those numbers by millions.

Brown can earn up to an extra $1 million if he hits touchdown incentives. Five touchdowns earns $500,000, six earns $750,000, and seven earns $1 million.

He can also earn $1.5 million based on the amount of time he plays. If Brown plays 75 percent of the team’s snaps he will earn that money.

In total, Brown can grow his Chiefs salary from $6.5 million to $11 million if he has a strong season.

Brown has shown that he can be a strong receiver, and with Patrick Mahomes now throwing him balls he can definitely break out.

Brown was drafted with the No. 25 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft by the Baltimore Ravens.

He played well with the team, compiling 2,361 yards in three seasons with the team. He crossed 1,000 yards in his third season in 2021.

Brown would be traded to the Cardinals in 2022 though, and struggled to find success in the system.

He only managed 1,283 yards in two seasons with the Cardinals and didn’t play a full season in either year.

Brown will get a fresh start with the reigning Super Bowl champs who were desperate for help at the wide receiver position.

Outside of rookie Rashee Rice who went for 938 yards, Mahomes didn’t have many capable targets at the receiver position.

Of course, he did have Travis Kelce to catch passes who was always reliable.

Last season Kelce hauled in 93 receptions for 984 yards and scored five touchdowns.

With the addition of Smith-Schuster, Brown and speedy rookie Xavier Worthy, the Chiefs have a more potent passing offense that should only help further their cause to go for three Super Bowl wins in a row.

The Chiefs will debut their new look offense on September 5 when they host the Ravens in the NFL season opener.
