The public will finally be able to see Kobe Bryant‘s statue at the Los Angeles Lakers‘ venue as the sport remembers him and his daughter as Scottie Pippen offers a heartfelt and beautiful message to the family.
Pippen, a six-time NBA champion with the Chicago Bulls, is one of the sports biggest names and highlights just how much of an effort there is to support Vanessa Bryant and her family as well as remembering one of the finest players ever in Bryant.

The warming message comes after the Lakers unveiled a status of Kobe and his daughter, Gianna, on October 2, 2023 in a private ceremony which will now officially open to the public on Saturday, August 3.
“The new statue of Kobe and Gianna at Crypto Arena is a moving tribute to the bond of father and daughter,” Pippen posted to Instagram. “It shows their unbreakable bond and the strength of family.
“Forever in our hearts.”
The statue which features the father and daughter looking at each other in their jerseys and basketball clothes, was initially placed on a path overlooking a beautiful Californian plain before being moved to Bryant’s stomping ground at the Crypto.com Arena in LA.
Gianna Bryant was also a talented basketballer too, and Kobe even suggested she had better potential than he did, as he continued to be an excellent father to his family and a good husband to his wife.
“Gianna is a beast,” Kobe Bryant said at the time. “She’s better than I was at her age. She’s got it. Girls are amazing. I would have five more girls if I could. I’m a girl dad.”
How did Kobe Bryant die?
Bryant died in a helicopter crash on January 26, 2020, in Calabasas, California when a Sikorsky S-76B crashed into a hillside caused by poor visibility in foggy conditions, also killed his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, and seven others.
They were en route to a basketball tournament at Bryant’s Mamba Sports Academy and all aboard losing their lives instantly. The tragic event shocked and saddened millions worldwide.
