Angel Reese is potentially having one of her worst days since becoming a WNBA player as she is getting criticism from fans soon after losing to Caitlin Clark’s Indiana Fever.

Reese’s excellent ability on rebounds this season has led to a lot of comparisons with former Detroit Pistons star Dennis Rodman and she decided to wear a Pistons jersey before Friday’s match against the Fever.

This sparked a lot of debate among fans who were very quick to share their thoughts.

“Best rebounder in the game, put some respect on her name,” a fan wrote positively on X.

She is leading the league in rebounds by averaging 12.9 rebounds per game and has a total of 399 rebounds so far.

Fans not impressed by the comparison

Despite this, many fans have pointed out that Rodman achieved a lot more in his career than Reese has so far and she perhaps shouldn’t be leaning into such comparisons to much.

“She’s no Dennis Rodman and never will be or should be mentioned in the same breath as him,” one fan wrote.

Another fan wrote, “That fit makes me hate her even more, got I hate that.”

“Lowkey disrespectful to Dennis Rodman, he was a true hustler not a stat padder,” someone else wrote.

Reese has been locked in a Rookie of the Year battle with Clark but the latter claimed after the game on Friday that neither player cares about the individual award.

“Me and Angel would both give you the same answer. You don’t wake up and think about individual awards. I know that’s what all of you think we do. I know we don’t. I know that’s what everybody wants to make this about,” she said.
