The saga is finally over. CeeDee Lamb, the star receiver for the Dallas Cowboys, has agreed to a contract extension with Jerry Jones’ team.

Lamb has signed a four-year extension worth $136 million, according to multiple reports.

The deal includes $100 million in guaranteed money and a record-setting $38 million signing bonus for a wide receiver, making Lamb the second-highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history.

CeeDee back with the Cowboys

Despite not training with the team throughout the offseason and the numerous rumors swirling about his departure, Lamb will return for his fifth NFL season with the Dallas Cowboys.

At just 25 years old, Lamb is coming off a career year where he led the league with 135 receptions, scored 13 touchdowns, and finished second in receiving yards with 1,749, trailing only Tyreek Hill.

Over his four seasons with the Cowboys, Lamb has appeared in 66 games, averaging 78 receiving yards per game with 395 receptions and 32 touchdowns.

With Lamb’s signing, there are now eight wide receivers with the highest contract values who have secured new deals this offseason.

Topping the list is Justin Jefferson of the Minnesota Vikings, who holds the number one spot with a record-breaking $140 million contract, the largest non-quarterback deal in NFL history.

This news is undoubtedly a boost for Cowboys fans, as the team would have faced significant offensive struggles without Lamb.

With Brandin Cooks, Jalen Tolbert, and other receivers being considered average in the league, Lamb’s return is crucial.

Who is the next to sign for the Cowboys

The Cowboys have posted three consecutive 12-5 seasons, demonstrating strong regular-season performance.

However, they have faltered dramatically in the playoffs, a pattern that has persisted for many years.

The last time they played in an NFC Conference Finals was in January 1996. Looking ahead, the focus will be on Dak Prescott (31), who is in the final year of his contract.

His next deal is expected to be around $55 million per year. It will be crucial to see if Jerry Jones decides to retain Prescott or explore other options for the upcoming season.

Prescott’s performance this year will be highly significant.

But it’s not just Prescott who will be under the spotlight; 2021 Defensive Rookie of the Year Micah Parsons (25) will also need a new contract next year, which is anticipated to be the largest ever for a defensive player.

Parsons has averaged 13 sacks per year over his three seasons and has been a pivotal force in the Cowboys’ defense.

The Cowboys kick off the season with a visit to the Browns, followed by home games against the New Orleans Saints and Baltimore Ravens. These three games could set the tone for a season of success or failure.
