Rules of ‘spicy cruise’ where people swap partners after couple explain what’s classed as cheating

‘Spicy cruises’ are the big holiday of the year for some people – and it doesn’t involve them trying a load of hot sauces and eating chicken wings for every meal.

It’s a whole other kind of spicy.

Not quite for the vanilla traveller, these cruise holidays see people swapping their partners to add a little heat to their relationships.

And while it might seem pretty wild, there are still rules, and a couple has explained what is classed as cheating for them on the trips.

TikTokers Bella and Jase share content on their @4ourplay.com and have been giving us all an insight into the mysterious world of ‘spicy cruises’.

Booked through Temptation Cruises, they boarded the Celebrity Summit cruise ship and vlogged a load of it.

Answering questions, they discussed whether Bella going into the ‘playroom’ without Jase would count as cheating.

For those not quite in the know, the playroom is a place where couples can go in, swap partners, and experiment with each other.

When she asked him, Jase said: “If you’re going to like, see what’s going on- no.

“But if you’re going in there, like, trying to play- yes.”

While there are these ‘playrooms’ on board and a ‘pyjama party’-themed evening for couples to mix, the ship of course comes with its rules.

So, what must passengers abide by outside of the bedroom?

Dress appropriately

Pool areas and the beach are parts of the trip where bikini tops are optional, meaning people can strip off if they please, but Temptation adds: “For the comfort of all guests, we ask that you use the appropriate attire in all other public areas, including dining facilities.”

Photography

Temptation explains that ‘some guests may want to keep their identities private’, so photography without permission isn’t allowed.

“Due to the unique concept of our resort, we ask that when taking photos and / or video, you only do selfies and close-ups for personal use, no wide angles,” the holiday provider says.

Show some respect

Guests are told to keep noise down when in hotel corridors after midnight, with Temptation joking: “We don’t want to have to give anyone a time-out!”

No drugs

While the company notes that it has ‘created an open-minded atmosphere’, there’s a complete ban on drugs.

Staff and guest relationships

There’s a strict ban on staff having an ‘intimate’ relationship with a guest or even having a drink with them. Doing so would result in instant dismissal.

“In order for all guests to fully enjoy their Temptation experience, we ask you to respect the playground rules.”

Keep it private

One last big rule is that explicit activities between guests are not allowed in any of the public areas of the ship.

The next Temptation Cruises holiday sets sail in February 2025 and starts from $193 per person, per night. That includes an unlimited bar, according to its website.

You have to be 21 or over to go on the cruise due to the USA’s laws on drinking alcohol.
