In the introduction, she shouts out her “incredible crew, band, singers and dancers who all matched my dedication to the massive scale and challenges of this show” along with the fans who attended each show.

“We do it because life comes in waves, in phases, in brilliant flurries of magical moments, and all of these things come together to create… Eras,” Swift continued. “Here is the official retrospective of the most wondrous tour of my life, my beloved Eras Tour.”

Swift even teased “see you next era…”, which naturally has fans clamoring for more. In the meantime, here are 13 things fans might’ve not known all too well before reading the book.

The Eras Tour by the Numbers

There are many impressive stats and records broken throughout the course of the Eras Tour, but the book includes two eye-popping figures. Throughout the course of the tour, Swift performed for over 500 hours (517, to be exact) — and there were 10.1 million fans in attendance.

“Welcome to the Eras Tour”

Swift went to 51 different cities across five continents since March 2023. She learned how to say “welcome to the Eras Tour” in 15 different languages to properly greet the stadiums filled with fans.

Cruel Summer

Swift “knew from the start” she had to open the Eras Tour with “Cruel Summer” in order “to blast us into the energy of this show.”

“Something about the combination of that song and that Versace glittery bodysuit I get to wear can pull me out of any funk, fix any headache, heal sour muscles,” Swift wrote.

She also knew the show should feature the Lover era up front. “I’d never gotten to tour the Lover album and this was a brand new era we were creating. Bright and romantic and celebratory.”

All That Glitters

Swift’s Fearless era, which she called “all glitter and whimsy and daydreams,” featured a sparkling guitar bedazzled personally by her parents, Scott and Andrea Swift, along with her brother Austin.

Taylor’s Version Through and Through

The musicians in the Eras Tour live band are the studio musicians who play on the Taylor’s Version of her re-recordings. So far, she’s released Taylor’s Version albums of FearlessRedSpeak Now and 1989.

‘Baby Just Say Yes’

Swift said one of her “favorite moments” of the Eras Tour show takes place during “Love Story” in the Fearless era. She wrote that she loves “seeing a stadium of people hold their hands up in the shape of a heart, and watching the crowds EXPLODE at the line ‘Marry me, Juliet.’”

“Many crowd proposals later, this era completely captured the nostalgic magic of Fearless,” she added.

‘Wait for the Signal’

During the evermore era, Swift’s favorite moment was during the enchanting “willow” choreography. “The meeting of the forest sorcerers during ‘willow,’ all of the dancers and me in our velvet capes with their glowing mythical orbs — twirling through the mist like a coven of mythical creatures.”

She said the sister album to folklore was rooted in storytelling and nature, and this choreography proves it.

Swift is Always ‘Ready For It’

Swift’s Reputation era included her “favorite entrance of the night,” which featured a snake onscreen and strobe lights in her era of “rebellion and defiance.”

She wrote, “I always imagined the sound of mysterious footsteps turned up perfectly with the ominous synth beats of ‘…Ready For It?'”

All About the ‘TayRoomba’

During the Tortured Poets Department era, which Swift debuted in May in Paris, Swift introduced new choreography and sets — along with a roving platform (featuring someone inside) that fans have affectionately nicknamed the TayRoomba.

“The ‘rover’ platform I travel on is actually operated by a crew member, who lays inside the platform and drives it from inside,” she wrote. The apparatus is used for “Down Bad” and “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?”

Behind The Dive

Following her secret song segments, Swift dives into the stage. She said the move involves “a lot of blind faith and an airbag under the stage” for when she makes a splash ahead of the Midnights portion of the show.

On Her Vigilante S—

Swift called “Vigilante S—” her “favorite moment of the night,” where she and the dancers break out chairs for the sexy Midnights track. “It’s just the most fun I’ve ever had,” she wrote, “the chair choreography! The catty, vengeful, mischievous personas we got to try on and play with!”

‘Checkmate, I Couldn’t Lose’

Many consider Swift a brilliant songwriter and smart businesswoman. However, the stage design for her “Mastermind” performance during the Midnights era is next level.

“We recreate a chessboard and when I signal the dancers to move to different spots on the board, they actually create the exact sequence for a checkmate,” she said.

Swift’s Arrival Isn’t Glamorous

Swift confirmed the rumor she arrives in a janitor’s cleaning cart each night of the Eras Tour with her “I Can Do It With A Broken Heart” music video. Towards the end of the Eras Tour book, Swift is photographed sitting on a chair in the cart with pictures of cats taped up inside — including one of her cat Meredith.

Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour Book is available for purchase at Target for $39.99.
